چکیده
Abstract Purpose of review This study aims to describe the pathophysiology pregnancy in pulmonary hypertension (PH) and recent literature on maternal fetal outcomes. Recent findings There is an increasing number pregnant women with PH. Maternal mortality arterial (PAH) ranges from 9 25%, most commonly heart failure arrythmias. The highest risk death peri-partum post-partum. Fetal/neonatal morbidity are also substantial. high rates prematurity, intrauterine growth retardation, preeclampsia. Women should be referred expert centers for management. Combination PAH therapy parenteral prostacyclin a phosphodiesterase type V inhibitor recommended. Induced vaginal delivery preferred, except cases severe or obstetric indications cesarean section. Summary Despite advances management, remains high-risk condition prevented.

Pulmonary hypertension complicating pulmonary sarcoidosis
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a severe complication of sarcoidosis, with an unknown prevalence. The aetiology is multifactorial, and the exact mechanism of PH in the individual patient is often difficult to establish. The diagnostic work-up and treatment of PH in sarcoidosis is complex, and should therefore be determined by a multidisciplinary expert team in a specialised centre. It is still a...

Fibrosing mediastinitis is caused by a proliferation of fibrous tissue in the mediastinum with encasement of mediastinal viscera and compression of mediastinal bronchovascular structures. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a severe complication of fibrosing mediastinitis caused by extrinsic compression of the pulmonary arteries and/or veins. We have conducted a retrospective observational study revi...

A 24-year-old Indian man died in 1977 after a long illness that began in 1961 (aged 8 years) with a severe gastrointestinal haemorrhage. Laparotomy showed large oesophageal varices that were oversewn. The spleen was enlarged but the liver looked normal. After a further gastrointestinal bleed in 1966 he underwent splenic venography, which showed a small, poorly opacifying portal vein and extensi...
متن کاملPulmonary Hypertension Complicating Systemic Hypertension, Is Diastolic Dysfunction the Culprit?
Background: Elevation in PA pressures has been observed by 2D echo in some but not all hypertensive patients. The mechanism and hemodynamic impact of pulmonary hypertension in these patients remains unclear. Methods: We reviewed echoes of all patients referred with systemic hypertension between 9/2006 to 5/2009 to identify those patients with left ventricular hypertrophy, normal systolic functi...
متن کاملUpdate on pulmonary hypertension complicating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is the hemodynamic manifestation of various pathological processes that result in elevated pulmonary artery pressures (PAP). The National Institutes of Health Registry defined pulmonary arterial hypertension as the mean PAP of more than 25 mm Hg with a pulmonary capillary wedge pressure or left atrial pressure equal to or less than 15 mm Hg. This definition remains t...
